The 8th annual Ultimate Car show in Larne kicked started the 2014 Northern Ireland show season.
Ultimate Car Show, has been often overlooked in the recent past due to conflicting dates with Dubshed and of course the adverse weather conditions which caused last years event to be rescheduled. However with a new date in the calendar and some ‘normal’ Norn Iron spring weather 2014’s event was a pleasant kick off to the NI show season.
We took the short trip along the coastal route to Larne were the show was once again being held in the grounds of the Caterpillar factory to raise money for Larne Adult Centre, Spin-NI and PIPS.
After a long winter hiatus it was interesting to see what changes had been made in the off season. For some, it was new wheels, suspension changes and engine mods while others arrived with new cars. With his new Audi RS4 Avant Mark Stewart (hey, we know him) picked up the award for best overall car and was definitely of the later variety. Robin Kavanagh fell into the first with his recently rebuilt EK Civic turbo which picked up best modified. StanceNI, who entered a club for the very first time, picked up best stand with their high quality selection of varied marques.
